• 5.0 out of 5 stars from Doris J. Bernethy -- Captivating, clean book. : Robin Patchen has once again created a very captivating and suspenseful story. Seven years ago, a child who was the sister of Cassidy's boyfriend, James, was abducted while Cassidy was babysitting her and shortly thereafter was found to be murdered. Feeling responsible and bearing the blame for the kidnapping, Cassidy leaves. But now another child has disappeared in much the same fashion, and Cassidy feels compelled to return to see if there is anything she can do to help rescue this child. She and James join forces, and the danger escalates. Someone doesn't want then finding out what happened and if it is connected to the old unsolved case of James's sister. Since the abductor of James's sister was never apprehended, has he struck again or is this a copycat crime? Will Cassidy and James be able to discover the killer's identity before another child is murdered? This book has many twists and turns and a surprising conclusion I did not see coming. This is an excellent, clean, and highly suspenseful story which I thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend. ( Reviewed in the United States on February 20, 2021 )
• 5.0 out of 5 stars from JLocke -- 5, 10, 15 stars! : Wow! What a dramatic story, filled with the best and the worst in every human heart. I love the way Robin Patchen expresses her belief in God as essential as breath is to life. She doesn't preach or push just demonstrates the difference a life with Christ is as opposed to without Him. James and Cassidy made mistakes, had fears and doubts but never stopped trying to help others and themselves. I miss some of the friends from Nutfield and Coventry ( though Dylan had a cameo) but James and Cassidy quickly made my list of new book friends. I've already got book rwo in this series. And now Ella, daughter of her former high school friend...why suspect anyone but the goth girl from high school days? Very suspenseful, a book you'll stay up late to finish!
